Advancing Client Conversations with Modern Planning Tools: Orrstown Bank’s Experience with Moneytree

Colin Fry, a financial investment advisor, plays a central role in running reports for other members of his team and assisting with client presentations. Alongside him, Philip Fague, Executive Vice President and Chief Trust Officer, also contributes to financial planning and joins client conversations when needed. 

Together, they’ve recently introduced Moneytree Software into their operations — a shift they say has already brought noticeable improvements in efficiency, customization, and client engagement. 

Choosing the right platform 

When Orrstown began evaluating financial planning software, Fry drew on his experience with four or five other platforms. His conclusion was clear:

For both Fry and Fague, Moneytree’s reports stand out. 

Fry especially values the one-page summaries: “No one wants to flip through 40 pages just to find what they need at the end. Moneytree’s reports are clean, succinct, and easy to read.” 

They’ve also found the software’s cash-flow analysis tools to be a game changer. In the past, assessing cash flow for clients who weren’t near retirement was a challenge. Now, Fry and his team can analyze those situations far more efficiently. 

Driving better conversations 

The clarity of Moneytree’s reporting doesn’t just benefit the Orrstown team — it improves conversations with clients as well. Fry noted:  

“Clients appreciate how clean and easy to read the reports are. It makes discussions more straightforward and productive.” 

By reducing complexity, the software allows advisors to spend less time navigating technology and more time focusing on meaningful, client-centered discussions.

Beyond client engagement, Moneytree has streamlined Orrstown’s internal workflow. Fry emphasized how intuitive it is to move from screen to screen compared with other platforms like MoneyGuidePro: “With Moneytree, it’s much easier to navigate. That saves us time every day.”
